Finished Book is Here: Without Title

Hi all!  I just wanted to share this with you.  Here is the first lot of 'finished' copies of Without Title.  I will start sending books out this week.  I'm not sure which order to go.  Whether to start from the First Giveaway and go that way, or to send to winners first.  You decide!!  Either way Winners and Runners Up will have their book soon!!

These are my proof copies/ finished product, although one of the books I've already started going through with the red pen picking up errors and things that I have missed.  There aren't too many thank god!  My only issue with this is the toss up of justifying the text inside.  I did attempt this twice with disastrous results eg. words gone off the page etc so it didn't really like it.

In the next few days I'll be correcting any errors before printing the bulk load and sending it off to all of you!!

For the Winners and runners up, I will need you to send me your address so I can get them in the mail for you as soon as the final copy is printed.

Once Upon A Time Project Update!

Hello all!

I'm sure many of you have been waiting eagerly for an update on the book 'Without Title'.  As of this moment it has been sent to the printers and I'm waiting for a proof copy to double check that everything is a-ok before I do a bulk order!

So for those of you have have either won a giveaway or were a runner up could you please send me your mailing addresses out so when the time comes I'm able to ship these off ASAP!  Soraya could you also send me your mailing address as well pls.

For those of you in Giveaway 3 that made it into the book but weren't a winner or runner up, I'll be sending a private invite to you so you are able to grab a copy for yourselves as well.

I'm hoping to have all copies sent out by the end of March, depending on how long it takes to print them up.  So stay tuned.

For those of you involved in the Once Upon a Time Project.  If you would like your friends and family to get a copy just let me know and I will send an invite out to them.  Unless there is a majority vote in the comments, I won't be making the book public unless you all decide that is what you want.  Let me know :)

Hey everyone!  How's the writing??  Hopefully all is going well with everyone.  So tonight I've spent most of my time designing covers for this post.  I think I've had more fun than I've had successes as I'm using a Banner program online.  I'm yet to install Photoshop but I will get there eventually!! A Prize will be added to this and the first G5 post soon

Once Upon a Time Project Giveaway 5

Hello everyone and welcome to the very LAST giveaway for Once Upon a Time.  There have been some amazing stories and I can't wait for the book to be done and in your hot little hands!  There will only be a first prize for the winner of G5 but like the other giveaways I will post the top 3 when the winner is announced.  (Although being the last giveaway I'm tempted to post all entries up so everyone can see the awesome work.  Let me know if you don't want this to happen when you enter your story in) 

I have also decided to extend the Cover & Title Contest so that it ends on the same deadline as G5.  We only have a couple of entries so far so please spread the word.  Hopefully in the next week or so I will attempt to create one as well (it's been a while since I used Photoshop) and post it up for you all for some inspiration.

Once Upon A Time Project G4 Week 4

Hello Everyone!

This week I've decided to share my morning at the Brisbane Writer's Festival!  I hadn't bought any tickets to any of the events so I just took a look around and bought a few things before heading home.

So obviously I headed straight to The Library Shop and checked out what they had available in the Teen section.  The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner and Soul Stealers caught my eye hence the reason for my photo! LOL

Honestly, I tried walking past this book three times but for some reason I felt like I needed to buy it.  For reasons unknown I felt this book really needed to be sitting in my overflowing bookshelf

I was waiting for my fancy vege lasagne and salad here and couldn't help thinking this table would look pretty cool in my lounge room.  As you can see I bought the book lol.

For some reason I have this thing for picking up flyers and free stuff when I'm at events.  Here I have the Program for the Brisbane Writer's Festival, Australian Poetryslam '10, Insight Magazine (State Library of Queensland Magazine), What's On in Brisbane card and Creative Sparks thingy.

So yeah, while I didn't do too much I was really excited to be at a Festival with other writers and Authors as well as other people interested in the stuff that I am.  I was amazed at how many people turned up on the first day.  I think it was more for the school kids and workshops but I still had a good time.

Brisbane Writer's Festival is on from the 1st to the 5th September 2010 so don't miss out on attending.  There are free events as well as ticketed ones too.

Hello everyone!! We are up to Week 3 of G4 and only one week to go to get your stories in!!  I've been coming up with a few good ideas here and there for the very last giveaway for Once Upon A Time.  If you have any ideas on making this very last one of Once Upon A Time Project email me at melissa@spellboundbybooks.com.  I'd love to hear what you think.

So... This week I've decided to post up a couple of covers that have entered so far for the Cover & Title Contest.  They are absolutely fabulous and I'm so stoked to share these with you.  Please keep in mind that we won't actually be voting on them until the end of September when the contest closes.  But feel free to leave a comment letting everyone know what you think!!

So one entrant has included Front cover and Back cover in their entry.  Back Cover is optional though.  There was also the spine that was designed but blurb for some reason won't let me change it.
