Synopsis
The Longing.
Once Grace and Sam have found each other, they know they must fight to stay together.  For Sam, this means a reckoning with his werewolf past.  For Grace it means facing a future that is less and less certain.

The Loss.
Into their world comes a new wolf named Cole, whose past is full of hurt and danger.  He is wrestling with his own demons, embracing the life of a wolf while denying the ties of being human.

The Linger.
For Grace, Sam, and Cole, life is a constant struggle between two forces - wolf and human - with love baring it's two sides as well.  It is harrowing and euphoric, freeing and entrapping, enticing and alarming.  As their world falls apart, love is what lingers.  But will it be enough.
My Thoughts
It's taken me a while to write this review.  Not because I didn't like it, but because I wasn't sure if I could write a review that could give it justice.

Shiver was a absolutely fantastic read but I was worried that Linger wouldn't live up to my expectations. I've read a few books where the first in the series was great, only to read the next one and it be a complete let down. Not Linger. I loved this more than Shiver, if that's even possible.

Linger is one of those books that sticks with you long after its been put down.  Maggie is such a talented writer and both Shiver and Linger are on my favourite books list.

Theres no way to describe this book other than heartbreakingly beautiful.  The narration is told between the four main characters, Grace, Sam, Isabel and Cole and each character is dealing with alot whether it be fitting in with their new life, or coming to terms with what life is dealing them right now.

It was good to see things from Isabel's point of view as well.  From Shiver, I wasn't sure what to expect of her and what her role would play in future books but it definitely helped give insight as to where she's coming from and why she's a bit of an ice queen at times.  Cole is another interesting character that would definitely fall under the category of damaged goods but his take on life brought a different outlook to the story.

Well Done Maggie, another fantastic book.  Forever (The Third Book) can't come soon enough for me.  Release date for Forever is in July 2011.

  2. Melissa I agree... I LOVED SHIVER and was nervous about Linger but it was great! I really liked the science/medical aspect and loved the introduction of Cole and Isabel's POV. I just went to the book signing of Linger and MAggie was really cool but she has me on pins and needles... I think she might break our hearts in Forever :0(
